Their son, Robert or Isaac Swete (Sweet), our direct lineage ancestor, b. 1552 Hacknet, London, Eng married 5/7/1578 Rainham, Essex, Eng No info on his wife
Their son, John Sweet, our direct lineage ancestor, b. 1579 D. 1637/1638 Providence City R.I. In 1619 married Mary Periam (same name as his grandmother??). She was born in 1579 Devonshire, Eng d. 7/31/1681 in Warwick, Kent, R.I. Probably came to America about 1620; lived in Salem, MA. In 1637 he received a grant of land near Providence, RI moved there and died the same year. The “Judge Stanford” house at North Kingston RI was on the site of and was said to be a shed of John Sweet’s. Henry Ford bought both the original home of John Sweet and that of his son James as historic sites. Mary ultimately remarried and returned to Salem.

JAMES, b. 1622 d. 1698 m. 1654 to Mary Greene b. 5/19/1633. She was the daughter of John Greene; her brother James was the great-grandfather of General Nathaniel Greene of Revolutionary war fame.

And John Sweet,, our direct lineage ancestor, b. 1620 d. 7/16/1677 Warwick, Kent R.I. In 1650/51 married Elizabeth Geoffrey b. 1629 Suffolk England. d. 9/18/1684 Warwick, Kent R.I. John came from England with his mother. Evidently his father came over earlier Lived in Warwick Rhode Island, was on the freeman's list in 1665. Was a commissioner in 1660. Had a grist mill and other works on the Potowomut river in Narraganset county, which were burned by Indians in the Phillip’s war in 1675.
In his will of 1677, then of Newport, he names his wife Elizabeth and the following children

In 1846 he married Ann Sheffield of Pennsylvania Dutch and English decent. She died on Sept. 19, 1893 and is buried at Liscomb, Iowa. They traveled, in a covered wagon, from N.Y. state to Liscomb. Having traveled around the lower end of Lake Superior and heading northwest toward Liscomb their son Jerome B. (see below) was born in Dekalb, IL

And, Jesse W. Sweet, our direct lineage ancestor, b. July 6, 1847 in New York State, d. 12/27/1931 Moved with his parents to Liscomb, Iowa. In 1870 he went to Sioux Falls, SD See Pioneer article. He married Catherine Ann Alguire on August 20, 1876.

BERTHA, b. Friday June 1, 1877 married Mark Adams. Mark died July 4, 194-, Bertha died Feb. 13, 1951. Both ar buried in "Hills of Rest" cemetery, Sioux Falls SD. They had 5 children. Glenn, Kenneth, Jesse, Lester and Gladys
WILLIAM BENNIE, b. Sep. 27,1880 married Ruth Olson on Oct. 9, 1902. They had three children - Leonard, Lillian and Sylvia.
JEROME, b. Jan. 23, 1885. Married one Dec 30, 1908 to Leta Kuester b. Sept. 24, 1884. No children
MARY ROENA (MINNIE), b. April 1, 1887 married on Jan 25, 1911 to Henry Krambeck b. Aug. 15, 1871.They had two children - Leroy and Marie
MYRTLE, b. May 19, 1890, married on Jan. 27, 1914 to Charles Edward (Ned) McKeon b. April 24, 1893. He was drowned at Lake Madison, So. Dak. in Sept. of 1922. They had one child - Mae.
ELSIE, b. June 15, 1894 married Harry Billings, Died June 15, 1927 They had two children - Claire and __________
PEARL CATHERINE, b. Nov. 4, 1900 married Dec. 25, 1919 to Arthur Renaas. Arthur died Feb. 14, 1958. They had one child -Dorothy.
